Same sh&t, different day

Let’s see if my selections work on this often wonky app. I guess it’s okay so far. It’s early morning and the sun hasn’t come up yet. I can hear all the cheery chirping birds outside already though. Everything but a rooster crowing announcing the coming dawn. I woke up a while ago with pain. My joints have been really stiff and sore the past several days for some reason. I assume it’s because I’m not working hard enough with stretching and weight machines and my muscles are weak. Maybe it’s just arthritis, I don’t know. It’s unpleasant, that I do know. I need some lifestyle changes for sure.

We got some new living room furniture yesterday. We still have to buy a new area rug and coffee table to go with it. It will take some time adjusting and arranging. Overall I like the new updated look. Casey and Jackie took our old set for their basement rec room. It should be very usable for their family for many years.

With May approaching I have lots of yard work coming up quickly as soon as we’re safe from frost. I’ve put a couple plants out on the patio that are more cold hardy. I have a lot of seeds and bulbs to plant. We’re getting the big birch tree in back trimmed and one big entire limb removed. It drops limbs and branches all over the yard and patio all year long. It’s a big pain in the butt. We’re also going to add some storage lockers and shelves to the garage and flooring epoxy, concrete driveway ribbons and a new larger flared front sidewalk. We’re having to take out a big round evergreen bush to put in the driveway ribbons. We’ll have a lot of stuff going on around here once May arrives.

Today I will stretch, exercise, lift weights and push to be positive, grateful and happy. I will count my many blessings over and over. The singing birds outside remind me to be happy for the day.
I try not to pay too much attention to the news and politics. It’s too upsetting if I follow it much and for the most part I feel helpless so I try to focus on other things so I don’t dwell on doom.

Hump Day

It’s mid morning on Wednesday. We decided to just pack up and drive home from the Wisconsin Dells Monday night around 7:30. By the time we packed up all our stuff and loaded the car we didn’t start driving home until well past 8. It was good to get home. The resort we stayed at was very nice but SUPER crowded with families of wild screaming kids running up and down the hauls, naturally wild and excited for all the water parks and arcades. I get it. I like kids a lot but the water parks were just swarmingly packed and there were no tables or seats left. We did drive around sightseeing, had several nice meals, took and old friend to lunch, drove to a bunch of area towns. We had a great time but decided not to stay the full week so came home and picked Bitzi up from the kennel early. Mike is still having problems with his foot / ankle / knee.

I enjoyed the walk around the lake this morning but a bit too windy and chilly.

Rainy cold day

It was very windy and rainy last night and this morning. I’m dreading the morning walk with Bitzi. Mike’s foot is hurting pretty bad again.

Cozy

The weather has turned cold again. I had a very brisk walk with Bitzi this morning. I cleaned up my clutter in the bedroom and bathroom. We went out for lunch and I scheduled a neighbor ladies’ brunch for April and sent out the invitations. Tomorrow I’m going to see Shen Yun in Aurora. I just watched some critical videos about it. Oh well. I’ve already paid for it. Friday Mike and I are going to the Wisconsin Dells for five nights.
